Water Engineering Africa, is a wholly Namibian owned civil, mechanical and electrical engineering company that was founded in June 2009. WEA specializes in the construction of water, reticulations, designing, mechanical installation, maintenance of sewer pump stations and sewerage ponds; construction of storm water drainage; rehabilitation and installation of borehole systems and pumps.

WEA is also a leading supplier of various types of pipes, fittings, valves, solar and diesel driven pumps, manhole covers and other water related accessories. Our Leader

Mr Tangeni Shihafeleni Nghiwewelekwa is the founder of Water Engineering Africa. He commands more than 30 years of wide technical and practical experience in Mechanical, Electrical and Structural engineering.

Prior to the establishment of WEA, Tangeni has worked his way through the ranks of Oshakati Town Council’s Engineering Department where he was finally in charge of the Wet Services Division. He also worked for engineering firm ELWIWA as a Project Manager, where he was very influential in the establishment of ELWIWA Northern branch. He was responsible for the design and construction of various projects as well as marketing.

Tangeni was trained at Chemie AG in Halle, Germany as Rohrleitungsbau before completing his studies at Valomba Vocational Training Centre in Ongwediva, in 1998.

WEA further offers after sale services and care to its clients which may include service and maintenance of infrastructures. Naturally, WEA staff are dispensed on different localities in order to handle client queries and provide functional and technical support.

Human Capacity

WEA has a staff compliment of 45 permanent employees and around 60 temporary workers at any given time. The company employs mainly locally based skilled and experienced workforce and has a training and development programme in liaison with local educational and training institutions such as VTCs, UNAM and NUST with the aim of supporting reciprocal investment in the local economy. WEA projects are therefore adequately resourced with the right team providing an enjoyable experience for all our stakeholders. This promotes strong work ethics and encourages staff to work and grow within the company.
